We learn to disassemble washing machines, such as Samsung, Indesit, Ariston, Bosch and LG. Do-it-yourself disassembly of the washing machine drum

In the article we will look in detail at the duration and components of the repair process for an Indesit machine and its duration, in particular, its most difficult part - how to disassemble the tank of a washing machine.

The design, disassembly, and loading of all SMAs, be it Indesit, Samsung or some other, is quite standard, just like replacing, say, bearings, requires certain skills. For the same reason, disassembly, loading and replacement of parts, removal of units and repair duration are identical. SMAs consist of repeating parts that can be removed, a specific part can be replaced, or removed during a repair process.

There are always panels (back, front, plinth, etc.) that can be accessed and removed or replaced.

There is a tray for adding (replacing) powder or detergent suspension during the washing process. In each machine it is located on the front panel.

Panel that sets the program duration. Loading mode.

For this reason, the duration of repair of a washing machine of various models, as a rule, is reduced to one sequence.

When starting Indesit repairs, make sure that the machine is disconnected from the electrical network!

Why disassemble the tank? The fact is that repair and replacement of many parts of the Indesit machine is possible only after removing the tank. Otherwise you won't be able to get them. The duration of repairs, as well as disassembly, are also determined during the process. This procedure will allow you to open access to many previously inaccessible parts and eliminate a number of replacement problems. These are parts such as a bearing, shaft, drainage system and the tank itself - its elements and loading.

It is rare, but it happens that the drum itself requires repair or replacement, regardless of the bearings. This is when it knocks and creaks. It happens that the drum does not rotate or turns with difficulty during long-term operation. Increased noise and vibration are also signs of drum failure. In order to remove the tank parts, you will need the following tools:

  • open-end wrenches 8-18 mm and a set of corresponding heads;
  • pliers;
  • screwdrivers (“+” and “-”);
  • hammer;
  • hacksaw for metal;
  • awl;
  • wooden block.

To repair the tank, you need to prepare a place, move furniture, remove and cover an area of the floor with rags or old newspapers. Turn off the power supply and place the SMA at the repair site, remove the powder supply cuvette, remove the filter, after draining the remaining water.

We disassemble the front drainage system. There is a drain filter under the cover. We tighten the screws - there are two of them - and push them forward. Place the washing machine on its side. Disconnect the drain pump-filter hose. We remove the drum of the Indesit machine to replace the key part.

It is possible that some water will pour out of the Indesit washing machine pipe. You should think in advance about how to remove it - maybe install some kind of collection. Access to the filter is obvious. Use pliers to loosen the clamps and easily remove the pump. You need to unscrew the screws that secure it and pull out the wires. Now remove the drum. If replacement is necessary, the pump can be disassembled just as easily.

Remove the front cover from the machine body. To do this, you need to remove two screws from the upper part of the rear wall, slide the front cover back and lift it up.

Then you should remove the front cover from the service hatch located on the end wall. It is held in place by six self-tapping bolts. Access to a number of units and parts is available. First, you need to remove the belt from the pulley (video), then remove the wires from the contacts of the heating element and temperature sensor.

Pull out the heating element, being careful not to damage the contacts. Remove the heater after unscrewing the central nut. Remove the wires from the electric motor. To do this, use a socket to unscrew two 10* bolts. Remove the engine (video). Remove the counterweight, which is attached above the tank with three 10* bolts.

Removing the control panel

We release the fasteners in the area of the niche for the tray (loading under the powder). After you manage to get the screw in the left corner of the case, the panel is held in place only by latches. While disassembling the tank, pull the panel up to release it from the latches. The wires of the halves fit into the panel, so you should not pull sharply to avoid breaking the wire. We release the wire from the inlet valve and remove the panel (it will hang freely on the bundle of remaining wires - getting it out in the further disassembly process will not be difficult). Removing the rubber cuff of the hatch contour, replacing the clamp.

The cuff is secured using a steel spring clamp. We find the fastening of the clamp, pull back the spring and remove it, and tuck the free cuff inside the machine. Replacing the clamp - as necessary. Remove the tank of the machine without disassembling the attachments. Pull out the inlet valve with the powder receiver.

Remove the wires from the water level sensor - now the sensor can be pulled out of the front pillar. If the object of disassembly is the tank itself or part of it, then it should be removed.

The process of disassembling the tank of an Indesit machine is carried out by two people. Not for the reason that the tank is heavy, but simply because of the lack of “extra hands”. We move the tank to free it from the springs and remove it from the body.

The replacement process begins - difficult and painstaking work - the tank has to be divided into two halves. We install the tank with the weld seam facing up. Using a hacksaw or a small grinder, we cut two halves along the seam, remembering that later the tank will have to be connected again. After cutting, we remove the front half to the side and begin working with the remaining one.

We plot the location of all the wires to be removed on a homemade diagram with the obligatory indication of the color of the wires! After all, later you will have to put everything in place.

Loading the rear half of the drum tank of the Indesit washing machine. The pulley of the drum half is secured with a nut. Unscrew the nut and remove the pulley from the shaft. We screw a third-party bolt into the resulting hole and, with sharp blows on it (through a wooden block!), try to pull the remaining part of the tank out of the shaft.

In front of us is half a tank with a shaft. Let's look at both halves before removing the bearings. The shaft contains bearings and seals. It is not possible to remove the bearings so easily - you need a special puller or jack. First, remove the halves to the side. If it is not possible to remove the bearings yourself, you can contact your nearest car service center for help.

Having understood during the repair process how to remove the front part and how disassembly works, especially with the help of a video, we will deal with dismantling from below. We turn the car over and unscrew the shock absorber mounts on both sides. The path is clear for a plastic tank with a load and an electric motor.

Reassembly and disassembly of the tank follows the same algorithm. Of course, the duration of assembly, with skill, is much less than disassembly. Believe in yourself and everything will work out for you. Good luck!

A washing machine breakdown is very rare, but problems that arise can create big problems for the owner of the device. Very often, defects lie in the drum. In this case, users are interested in how to disassemble the drum of a washing machine in order to replace bearings, seals, flanges and other parts?

Drum Disassembly Tools

In order to disassemble the drum of an indesit, LG, Veko or any other company washing machine, you will need the following tools:

  • A set of screwdrivers, including a Phillips and slotted head.
  • Screwdriver.
  • Set of hexagons.
  • Nippers or pliers, hammer.

In addition, if it is necessary to replace certain parts, it is necessary to prepare them in advance (in case there is a suspicion of a certain breakdown).

Most washing machines have horizontal loading, but there are also models with vertical loading. Let's take a closer look at how to prepare a washing machine with vertical and horizontal loading before dismantling the drum.

Front loading washing machines

Before being disassembled, the washing machine must be unplugged. Also, before disassembling, it is necessary to pull out the drain hose and turn off the water supply hose. Next, the actual disassembly process begins:

  1. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws that hold the back panel of the washing machine.
  2. The front panel and top part are removed in the same way.
  3. The powder loading container is dismantled and the control panel is removed using a slotted screwdriver. Note that the panel does not need to be completely removed from the washing machine - it is enough to place it on the side so that it does not interfere with the process of disassembling the drum.
  4. The next step is to remove the hatch cuff, after which the bottom panel is removed as indicated in steps 1 and 2.
  5. There are screws on the bottom panel that also need to be unscrewed - this is the last step before dismantling the tank.
  6. It is necessary to remove all connected elements from the loading tank (drum) - shock absorbers, electronics, and other spare parts. The next step is to turn off the motor, which is located on the back of the drum. If you have never encountered the repair of a washing machine and drum, you must first watch a video that shows how to properly dismantle the equipment and also install the drum in the reverse order.

In some models of washing machines, a glued (or, in other words, non-removable tank) drum is installed - in such cases, even service centers refuse to dismantle it, and in this case it may be necessary to saw the drum itself for repair work.

Top loading washing machines

The washing machine, which is designed for vertical loading, takes up little space and is more ergonomic than standard Ariston, Bosch or Samsung washing machines with laundry loading from the front plane. The loading tank of such models is secured with screws. The drum is dismantled as follows:

  1. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws securing the back wall and the lower front part.
  2. The side panel is moved to the side and then completely removed from the washing machine.
  3. The wiring is dismantled around the circumference of the casing and the screws are unscrewed.

Disassembling the drum

How to disassemble the drum of an Indesit, Electrolux, etc. washing machine? To do this, you need to find the place where the two halves of the drum are attached (if the drum is not solid) and remove the screws that secure them.

During disassembly, we carefully inspect the condition of the seals and other parts - if necessary, they need to be wiped clean of dirt.

The seals are removed from the loading tank using a regular flat-head screwdriver (to do this, you need to pry off the seals). The bearings are knocked out with a hammer and a metal rod, the cross-sectional diameter of which coincides with the diameter of the bearings. The components of the drum must be dismantled carefully so as not to damage its integrity. Replacing bearings is quite difficult, so the tools must be used with great precision and care.

In order to understand in detail the process of dismantling the loading tank, we offer readers a video that clearly explains the main points and shows the procedure for disassembling the drum of a washing machine:

Disassembling a drum in a soldered tank

Let us consider separately the option of disassembling the soldered tank of a washing machine. Many manufacturers choose this assembly option because it is cheaper and easier to produce. As a rule, the failure of any part inside such a tank leads to the need to replace the entire tank. We will look at how you can repair the drum and not contact service departments.

The disassembly process is as follows:

  1. We take out the tank in which the drum is located from the washing machine.
  2. We determine the location of the weld, after which we make shallow holes in it at a distance of 4-5 cm using a drill (drill diameter - 3-4 mm).
  3. The next step is cutting the tank. To do this, take a hacksaw and cut the tank along the weld seam.
  4. The front part of the tank is carefully cut off, while the rear part (in which the drum is located) remains in the tank.
  5. We turn over the main part of the tank and find the place where the drum is attached to the tank (the attachment is made to a wheel, which can be removed using a regular screwdriver).
  6. After the drum is removed from the tank, repair work can be carried out on it. Note that the drum itself is designed in exactly the same way as in models with collapsible tanks.

Assembly is carried out in reverse order. The part of the tank that was previously sawn off is installed back and attached to a special glue and additionally secured with screws.

In contact with

Any equipment fails sooner or later. Washing machines in the budget category, for example, Indesit brand models such as WISL 82, WISL 83, WISL 102, WISL 103, WISL 105, IWSC 5105 (especially those that have been in use for a long time), often require repairs. Failures can be very different, and in order to correctly determine the cause of the malfunction and eliminate it, as a rule, the machine needs to be disassembled.

Sometimes it is enough to simply remove one of the housing covers, but there are times when you need to get to a bearing located in the drum or to another hard-to-reach part. Then the owners of the equipment are faced with a serious task, the solution of which must be approached with full responsibility.

If you want to save money, try performing repairs without contacting a service center. In our article we will tell you how to disassemble an Indesit washing machine with your own hands so that you can easily reassemble it later.

Preparation

Before you begin any repairs, you need to make sure you have the necessary tools. You may need:

  • a set of flat and Phillips screwdrivers;
  • socket and open-end wrenches;
  • set of heads and knobs;
  • hammer;
  • multimeter;
  • bit;
  • hacksaw for metal;
  • pliers;
  • WD-40 product;
  • awl.

Please note that the presented list of tools and tools is as wide as possible and allows you to perform any repair. In some cases, you can get by with a much smaller set.

You must understand that troubleshooting can take more than one day, and the removed parts will take up a lot of space. Therefore, if possible, move the unit to a garage, shed or any other utility room, where it will not be in the way, and spare parts can be neatly laid out.

Before disassembling the automatic machine, find the warranty card and make sure that the warranty period has expired. Remember that the manufacturer is not responsible for equipment that was repaired at home, so if the warranty is still in force, contact a specialized service center.

If there is no free space, organize the work on site: prepare a section of the floor at least 2 x 2 m in size, removing carpets, furniture and covering it with film or old newspapers. Disconnect the washing machine from all communications and carefully disconnect the hoses.

It is imperative to drain the remaining water from the tank so that during disassembly it does not get on other parts. To do this, place a dry cloth under the machine, unscrew the drain filter and wait until all the water drains from the hole. Also remove the detergent tray (usually to do this you need to press the latch located in the middle and at the same time pull the part towards you) and set it and the filter aside.

In order to disassemble a washing machine, certain skills are required. If you are not confident in your own abilities, it is better to entrust the work to professionals.

So, the Indesit washing machine is ready for disassembly, what should you do first?

How to remove main parts

The washing machine consists of many parts, most of which are hidden inside the body.

We begin to disassemble the body with top panel, which is secured with two bolts located on the back of the machine; they must be unscrewed first. Then, standing at the front of the unit, pull the panel towards you and lift it slightly.

Next we move on to rear panel, which is held on by six screws. You can unscrew them using a screwdriver. Directly behind the cover you will see the drive belt; it is better to immediately remove it too, carefully turning the pulley wheel clockwise.

To dismantle dashboard, unscrew several screws located in the niche of the detergent tray. Then we disconnect the wires and the pipe, remove the panel from the latches and put it aside.

During the disassembly process, the location of the parts and the connection diagram of the contacts can be photographed so that after the repair you can quickly and correctly reassemble in the reverse order.

At the top washing machine there are: a counterweight (stone), a pipe connecting the powder compartment to the tank, a water intake valve and its contacts, as well as a pressure switch, its tube and contacts. We remove all these details.

Before remove the front panel, remove the hatch door and rubber seal. We begin dismantling with the cuff - bend it with a screwdriver and carefully remove it. We dismantle the door by unscrewing several bolts that hold the hinge. Then we remove the screws that hold the front panel in place and move it to the side.

In the lower part of the unit, it is necessary to dismantle the electric motor, tubular electric heater (TEH), lower counterweight, drain pipe and shock absorbers on which the tank is supported.

The heating element is easy to find by the end, which is visible under the tank. Remove all wiring from the heater contacts. Unscrew the nut located in the center between the contacts. Having loosened the element, remove it from the groove. We remove the power supply and ground wire from the engine, and then unscrew the bolts securing it.

To remove the shock absorbers and drain pipe, you need to place the washing machine on its side. Using pliers, remove the clamp and disconnect the drain pipe from the pump. Then unscrew the shock absorbers.

After dismantling all the parts, remove the tank. But what if this is not enough? How to disassemble the drum of an Indesit washing machine located inside a non-separable tank?

How to disassemble the tank and drum

Washing machines of the Indesit brand usually have non-separable tanks, that is, if any element located inside fails, the manufacturer recommends replacing the entire part. Such repairs can be expensive, so if it is necessary to replace, for example, a bearing, it is still better to disassemble the tank.

Dismantling begins with remove the pulley(the wheel through which the belt passed). The bolt that secures this part is subject to significant stress, and it is important that it holds tightly. Therefore, when assembling a machine, it is often not just screwed on, but also additionally secured with glue. It is better to use a T40 hexagonal star wrench and loosen the bolt, gradually loosening it. If the part does not give in, spray it with WD-40 or carefully knock it off the glue with a hammer.

Next, we lay the tank on its side and carefully cut it with a hacksaw along the seam (where the two halves of the part are soldered). First, use a drill to drill holes around the entire perimeter of the seam (during assembly, the halves can be easily fastened with bolts).

When the tank is open, unscrew the bolts securing the drum, unfasten the fastenings and remove the tank wall. Now you can disassemble the drum, that is, remove the oil seal and bearings from it.

We start with the bearing located closer to the outside of the drum. We lay the part with the hatch hole down, place the chisel on the outer rim of the metal ring and hit it with a hammer.

We carefully monitor the position of the chisel when knocking out the bearing - if the tool slips and the inner ring is struck, it may fly out, and it will be quite difficult to remove the remaining bearing from the seat. We dismantle the inner bearing in the same way, and then remove the oil seal.

Features of disassembling units with vertical loading

How to disassemble an Indesit top-loading washing machine? The procedure will not differ much from that described above, because the device contains the same elements as a front-loading washing machine (pressure switch, water intake valve, drum, tank, control board, pump, etc.). The main differences are that the axis of the “vertical” drum is structurally made on two bearings, and sometimes a self-positioning sensor is located on the tank (fixing the drum with the flaps up).

We begin to disassemble the unit with control panels, unscrewing the screws holding it on the sides or simply prying the part with a screwdriver and sliding it towards you, not forgetting to disconnect the contacts. Under the panel there is a control board, which we also dismantle.

Then we remove top cover(its fastenings are usually located under the control board) and side panels, Carefully disconnect the clamp from the drum.

Further actions will consist of sequential removal of all parts. The bearings in a top-loading washing machine are located on both sides of the drum, so removing them will take a little longer.

We will be glad if our article helps you repair your washing machine yourself. Follow the instruction manual, take your time, be careful, and you will succeed!

When purchasing new equipment, we place a lot of hope on it that the equipment will serve properly for a long time. Unfortunately, expectations do not always correspond to reality; until recently, your favorite household “helper” begins to malfunction after a couple of months. Disassembling the Indesit washing machine will not be particularly difficult if you follow all the necessary rules. It is very important here to remember the sequence of stages of disassembling and assembling the unit. To avoid mistakes, we suggest you consider the step-by-step instructions, but first you need to understand the principle of operation of the device.

How does an automatic machine work?

The functioning process of all washing machines is almost identical, regardless of the manufacturer. The work includes 6 main modes:

  1. Collecting a certain volume of liquid into a tank.
  2. Heating water to the required temperature required by the selected mode.
  3. Drum rotations.
  4. Drain the used liquid and fill the reservoir with clean water.
  5. Rinsing and draining.
  6. Spin clothes at high speed.

Important nuances

There are a number of specific points that you need to know before you start disassembling the Indesit washing machine. First of all, you need to remember the sequence of stages of disassembling the equipment, all connections of parts and electronic wiring. A camera will help in this matter. Record each step of disassembling the washing unit so that there are no problems with subsequent assembly of the device.

When you disassemble the working mechanism, prepare all the necessary tools and spare parts that may be required during the repair process.

To avoid unnecessary work and save time, find out the exact cause of the problem. You may not have to completely disassemble the unit to fix it. Otherwise, be prepared to devote at least 3-4 hours to this work. Also, in order to disassemble the drum, the help of a second person may be required, since the parts are equipped with weights that one specialist will not be able to remove.

VIDEO: Detailed disassembly of Indesit

Dismantling process

You can disassemble the washing machine in any room where there is enough free space. For example, a room with dimensions of 2.5x2.5 m will be quite enough. Repair work, if you have the slightest experience, can be done with your own hands, without the involvement of specialists.

It is important to understand that most of the functioning parts of the Indesit washing machine are treated with a special lubricant, which can seriously stain the floor. To avoid having to worry about cleaning it later, you should lay out unnecessary textiles.

Preparatory work

Before disassembling the Indesit washing machine on your own, you need to drain the water that is retained in the pipes and hoses after operation of the unit. The parts need to be disconnected so that they do not interfere with the work process. At this moment, you can already arm yourself with a camera to record all actions on video.

Removing the back cover - 5 steps

  1. There are 6 screws on the top of the washing machine that need to be removed. To avoid losing the fasteners when disassembling household appliances, put them in a separate box.

  1. Remove the weighting material by unscrewing the star bolt, thus significantly reducing the weight of the drum. Of course, you can leave the cargo, but removing the tank will require the help of a second person.
  2. Remove the top part of the Indesit washing machine. Unscrew the 2 screws and pull the cover towards you slightly. The element will come out of the grooves, which will allow it to be easily detached. 3 bolts with 10-point tops secure the weighting material located in the upper part; they should also be dismantled.

  1. Remove the front part of the panel, secured with two screws.
  2. Remove the soap cuvette. This is done in this way: holding the handle, pull the element all the way and shake it alternately in different directions. Thanks to these movements, the device will come out of the grooves. There are two screws left behind the cuvette - unscrew them.

Disconnect wiring and electronic parts

It is very important to carefully disconnect all electronic components of the washing machine. Start with the wire connecting the front control panel and the smart board. There are 2 white and blue wires leading to the oblong powder receiver; we also disconnect them, but at the same time mark the location for reverse connection with a marker.

There is another bolt near the water supply hose; it should be unscrewed. In the lower area of the powder receiver there is a tube secured with a rubber clamp - remove it and put the spare part aside. We also disconnect the main electrical wire and remove the cuff.

We take out the heating element

When the stage of disassembling the washing machine has come to dismantling the heating element, you need to be extremely careful. The heating element is attached using clamps; they should be removed along with the wiring that leads to the engine. Unscrew the bolts and remove the heating element.

Removing the shock absorber

At this step, disassembling the Indesit washing machine is not completed. Turn the unit upside down or place it so that the tilt angle does not exceed 45°. In this position, remove the bolts from both sides of the shock absorber and return the device to its original position.

At this moment, the hatch door should be open. Otherwise, it will interfere with the process of creating an unobstructed approach to the tank.

Last steps

  1. Using pliers, remove the shock absorbers fixed to the drum element using plastic fasteners.
  2. Remove the motor and rubber hose from the tank.
  3. Remove the bottom weight from the drum.

What to do with non-separable parts?

There are modifications that include a non-separable drum, for example, in the Indesit Wisl 86 washing machine. If it breaks down, any technician will insist on a complete replacement of the device, since plastic tanks are considered unsuitable for repair. The price for such a service, including the part, is 2/3 of the cost of a new unit. If you want to try to disassemble the tank yourself to replace seals or bearings, this problem can be solved as follows:

  1. Using a drill, make several holes around the entire circumference of the tank at intervals of 15 cm.
  2. Using a larger diameter drill, go through the same holes. In this way, the basis is prepared for screeding the tank after repair work.
  3. Saw the drum along the factory seam. To carry out this process you will need a hacksaw. Carry out the work with extreme care, since after the repair is completed, the tank will need to be glued along this cut. Please note that the entire disassembly of the drum takes about 3-6 hours.

  1. Remove the pulley secured with one nut from the tank shaft.
  2. Next, replace the bearings and seals.

VIDEO: How to cut a glued Indesit tank

To fix the vast majority of problems with your own hands, you should know how to disassemble an Indesit washing machine.

If repairs are required after 5-7 years of operation, this is quite normal. The only question is who to trust to repair the SM: a good technician, or try to fix everything yourself? In the article we will look at how to remove the top and back covers of the Indesit washing machine and explain the sequence of disassembling the case.

The Indesit washing machine is not much different from the similar Ariston brand. But there are still differences in the process of disassembly and repair, while the tool you will need is almost the same. So, arm yourself with these devices:

  • Open-end wrenches 8-18 millimeters.
  • A set of sockets and a wrench.
  • With pliers and pliers.
  • Screwdrivers - slotted and Phillips. It may be more convenient to use one screwdriver (regular or electric) with a set of attachments.
  • A small set of socket wrenches.
  • Multimeter.
  • With a hammer.
  • Hacksaw (for metal).
  • Markers.
  • Shilom.

If you are not going to repair the electrical component of the machine, then a multimeter may not be needed. Take a regular tester - it may come in handy.

Now that you have all the necessary tools, all you need is a clear disassembly diagram.

Set up your workplace. If the machine is in a miniature bathroom of 1x1.5 m, then there will be no place to spread out all the tools and have nowhere to turn around. It's great if you have a garage or workshop. But if there is no trace of anything like that, then move the machine to the kitchen or at least to the hallway. You will need at least 2 m2 of free space.

In general, preparing the site for disassembling the Indesit machine is as follows:

Now that everything is ready, you can try to disassemble the Indesit washing machine with your own hands.

The first thing to do is remove the cover. It is secured with two bolts from the rear panel. Select a suitable screwdriver and unscrew the fasteners, then pull the cover towards you a little and lift it up - that’s it, the panel is dismantled.

The second stage is removing the cover from the back. The service hatch is secured with six bolts - unscrew them with a suitable screwdriver.

Having removed the interfering panels - back and top, you will see in front of you part of the “insides” of the washing machine. Using them, you can gain access to the tank.

Proceed as follows to remove the drive belt:

  • With one hand, grab the pulley.
  • Hold the belt with your other hand.
  • Spin the pulley.

If everything is correct, the belt will slip off easily.

Inspect the back wall, which is behind the pulley. If you notice oil stains or rusty streaks, then the bearings are no longer usable and you will need to disassemble the Indesit washing machine to replace them.

Proceed like this:

  • Find the heating element (its shank is visible under the tank). Remove all wiring from the heater contacts. Unscrew the nut located in the center of the shank between the contacts. Having loosened the element, remove it from the groove.

Important! Many people leave the heating element in the tank when disassembling the washing machine. But this requires caution - during disassembly the contacts can be damaged or broken, and then the heating element will have to be replaced.

Here is a good video on how to remove heating elements from an Indesit washing machine:

  • Remove the wiring and chips from the electric motor. Use a socket wrench and a 10mm socket to remove the 2 bolts that hold the engine in place. Remove the engine and set it aside.

  • Switch to the top: above the top wall you will see a large stone - the manufacturers called it a counterweight (it protects the machine from loosening). It is usually secured with 3 bolts. They can be removed with a socket wrench. After removing the counterweight, set it aside.

Important! The counterweight is very heavy - be careful not to drop it and injure yourself.

You are now separated from the tank by just a couple of parts - for example, the control panel. To remove it, follow our recommendations:

  • Unscrew the fasteners (they are located at the niche of the powder dispenser).
  • Remove another fastener, which is hidden in the left front corner of the SM body.
  • To release the block from the latches holding it in place, pull it up.

Important! Do not make sudden movements, otherwise you will break the wiring.

  • Disconnect the wires that connect the panel to the intake valve.
  • Set the part aside so that it does not interfere with you (hang it on the service hook if you have one).

In the video you will find additional information about disassembling the front panel and removing the control panel:

Further disassembly

Now you need to access the tank from the front. To do this, work with the cuff:

  • Find the clamp that holds the rubber seal.
  • Use a very thin screwdriver to pry it open.
  • Move the screwdriver around until you hit the fastener.
  • Unscrew the fastening.
  • Remove the clamp.
  • Thread the rubber band inside the drum.

Let's disassemble the Indesit washing machine further:

  1. Walk around the machine.
  2. Unscrew the fastening near the water inlet hose.
  3. Now you can remove two parts at once: the inlet valve and the detergent receiver niche.

Be careful! Disconnect the powder receiver pipe before removing the niche. To do this you need to loosen the clamp.

Important! The mount is made of plastic, so remove the sensor carefully so as not to break it.

  1. Place the washer on its side.
  2. Since this brand usually does not have a bottom, you will immediately see the drain pipe and stands. With these parts the tank will not be removed.

How to remove the pipe and struts:

  • Loosen and remove the clamps holding the pipe.

  • Pull off the pipe.
  • Using a 10mm socket wrench, unscrew the fasteners that hold the racks in place.
  • Remove the stands.
  • Raise the machine and place it in its original position.

The longest stage of disassembly is completed, you can safely move on to the tank.

The trouble is that the manufacturer did not provide a collapsible tank, so it needs to be cut. To remove the tank, it is pulled off the springs and lifted up.

Important! When removing the tank, act carefully so as not to break the wires or damage the cuff.

If you still have questions about cutting the tank, watch the video, which clearly shows disassembling the machine, cutting the tank, and replacing bearings:

To remove the rear half of the tank, follow the instructions:

  • Unscrew the nut that holds the drum pulley.
  • Remove the pulley.
  • Screw a suitable bolt into the thread (not using a machine).
  • Place a block of wood against the bolt.
  • Hit the block with a hammer.
  • A strong impact should move half the tank.

Once the remaining half of the tank is knocked down, you'll be left with a drum with a shaft sticking out the back and seals and bearings installed on it. Now you can remove them in one of the following ways:

  1. Find a special car puller.
  2. Take the drum to an auto repair shop and ask mechanics to remove the bearings. They usually do it quickly and easily for a nominal fee.

By removing the bearings, you can easily install new ones and then reassemble everything again. Assembly will be the same as disassembly, except for the tank.

It is impossible to “saw” the tank back, but a good sealant will perfectly glue both halves together. But this is not enough - you will need to secure the tank with bolts.

If you understand how to disassemble an Indesit washing machine, you can put both the tank and the entire machine back together.
