Wall-mounted gas boiler with baxi boiler. Wall-mounted boiler with boiler

Wall mounted Baxi gas boilers have literally flooded the Russian heating equipment market over the past decade. This is not surprising. When a potential buyer is faced with a choice: to buy an inexpensive boiler, but unfinished and domestic, or a reliable, but expensive one made in Germany, the choice is often made in favor of Italian gas boilers.

As a rule, they are distinguished by a fairly good price-quality ratio and a developed technical service network; spare parts are easy to find. Let's consider the most popular brand of gas boilers in Russia, Baxi, reviews of which we can often read on specialized forums, online blogs or on the company's official website.

We will analyze in detail the main models, types, device, specifications wall-mounted (mounted) single-circuit and double-circuit gas boilers Baksi, we will identify their main advantages and disadvantages, and also understand how they differ from each other according to the operating instructions.

Basic models of wall-mounted gas boilers from Baxi

The following models of wall-mounted gas boilers from Baxi are available on our market:

— Baxi Main Four and (fourth and fifth generation of boilers);
— Baxi Four Tech and Baxi Eco 4S;
- and its more compact counterpart Baxi Eco Compact;
— Baxi Luna-3 and Luna-3 Comfort with a remote control panel;
— Baxi Nuvola-3 with built-in storage boiler.

Baksi wall-mounted gas boilers differ in the type of exhaust of combustion products and are:

1. Baxi turbocharged gas boilers with a closed combustion chamber

A special fan (turbine) is installed in the boiler, with the help of which combustion products are forcibly removed from the boiler into the atmosphere. To do this, you will have to additionally buy, or a pipe system for separate smoke removal and air supply.

The coaxial type of chimney of the “pipe-in-pipe” type is installed with one end (through the elbow) on the boiler, and the other end goes out through the wall to the street. This is very convenient, because... there is no need to specially fence the chimney through the roof.

Gas boiler Baxi Main Four 240 Fi

Such models are designated by Baxi with the article number “F” or “Fi”. For example, mounted double-circuit gas boilers Baxi Main Four 18 F, Baxi Eco 4S 24F or Baxi Eco Four 24 F. The numbers indicate to us the power of the boiler, i.e. 18 or 24 kW.

2. Atmospheric boilers Baxi with an open combustion chamber

If your private home already has a chimney with a diameter of at least 130 mm, then you can buy a boiler with an open chamber, the combustion products of which are released due to natural draft. Such boilers are often called “aspirated” boilers.

On the Baxi boilers themselves, the diameter of the smoke outlet pipe is 121-122 mm, so an aluminum corrugation with a diameter of 125 mm, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 400 degrees Celsius, which can be stretched up to three meters, is suitable for them. Or you can use stainless steel chimney pipes of the same diameter. True, this chimney option will cost a little more.

These models do not have a turbine, and the Baxi boiler is marked with the article “i”, or it is not indicated at all. For example, "Baxi Eco Four 24i" or "Baxi Four Tech 24".

Baxi wall-mounted gas boilers are available in two versions:

1. Single-circuit.

This type of boiler only provides for heating the coolant in the heating system. These boilers have only one main heat exchanger. This type of boiler is not very popular because its cost is slightly lower than that of double-circuit models.

In turn, a wall-mounted double-circuit gas boiler can always be used only for heating, and the second circuit for hot water cannot be connected at all.

You can simply buy a Baxi double-circuit gas boiler, even if there is no running water in the future. After all, perhaps after some time you will find the second circuit of this boiler useful, and you will not have to buy a new device.

2. Dual-circuit.

Such boilers are most popular among buyers, as evidenced by numerous reviews of Baxi gas boilers. They are able to work both as a heating unit and as a flow geyser. Moreover, when using running hot domestic water, the heating of the heating circuit does not turn on automatically, unlike many brands of floor-standing gas boilers.

Double-circuit wall-mounted gas boilers have two separate heat exchangers, or one bithermic one for heating both circuits in one monolithic block. Boilers of this type are in greatest demand among potential buyers. By purchasing such a boiler, we get both a boiler for heating and hot water supply in “one bottle”.

Design features of Baxi double-circuit gas boilers: instructions

Double-circuit boiler Baxi Eco 4S 24F

1. All models are equipped with two separate heat exchangers(except for boilers of the Main Four and Main 5 series) for heating water in the heating system and household, running water for hot water supply. The main heat exchanger is made of high-quality copper, the secondary one for hot water supply is made of stainless steel.

2. All boilers are equipped with a circulation pump German manufacturers, either Grundfos or Wilo. This pump is capable of raising the water column in the heating system up to 6 meters, which is quite enough for two-story house or cottage. The circulation pumps built into the boilers are quite economical and equipped.

3. To maintain the required pressure in the heating system, Baksi boilers have a built-in membrane expansion tank volume 6-10 liters. There is no need to purchase an additional one if the total volume of water in the system does not exceed 100-150 liters. You can find out this individual volume yourself by counting the total number of radiator sections, the length of the pipe, or when filling the system.

4. Baxi boilers are equipped with a Honeywell gas valve, gas-burner has flame breakers made of stainless steel. All models automatically maintain the water temperature in the heating system and in the DHW circuit thanks to smooth electronic modulation of the burner.

The boiler safety group includes:

— automatic air vent;
— safety valve with pressure gauge.

Let's consider the design of a double-circuit gas boiler using the example of the Baxi Eco Four 24F model according to the diagram:

Construction of a double-circuit gas boiler Baxi

1 - hydraulic pressure switch

2 - three-way valve

3 - motor three way valve

4.22 - 3 bar safety valves

5 - Honeywell gas valve

6 - gas supply tube to the burner

7 - water temperature sensor in the system

8 - flame spark plug

9 - overheat protection sensor (thermostat)

10 - main heat exchanger

11 — smoke hood

12 - turbine for exhausting combustion products

13 - Venturi tube

14,15 — position points. and negative pressure

16 - traction control sensor

17 - gas burner

18 - expansion membrane tank

19 — circulation pump

20.21 - drain valve and pressure gauge
23 - tap for recharging the heating system
24.25 - temperature sensors of the DHW circuit

In addition, wall-mounted boilers have a built-in electronic board, the so-called. the “brains” of the boiler, various sensors: flow, temperature of the DHW and heating circuits, as well as draft and flame sensors. There is a system for protecting the boiler from freezing and blocking the circulation pump. This does not cancel the mandatory purchase for a boiler of this brand.

Gas boilers Baksi: differences between models and technical characteristics

As you can see, the range of boilers from this Italian manufacturer is quite wide. Let's now take a closer look at each of the main models and find out how they differ from each other and what features they have.

Features of the boiler models of the Baxi Main Four and Baxi Main 5 series

The predecessor of this series of boilers were devices called Baxi Main, which did not have an LCD display and a number of other functions. In general, the word “Main” translated from English means “main” or “main”. Also in our case, the “Main” series boilers are the basic version of the wall-mounted gas boiler from the Baxi company.

Their main distinguishing feature is the presence of a bithermal heat exchanger. This means that both the heating system circuit and the DHW circuit are heated in one heat exchanger. The water in the circuits does not mix, and the running water is heated precisely by the heating circuit.

The fifth generation boiler attracts with its compact size, but is only available with a closed combustion chamber, unlike the fourth generation boiler. They can be used for heating a private house or apartment with an area of up to 200-240 m2, and have a model range with a power of 14, 18 and 24 kW.

Technical characteristics of Baxi Main 5

Features of the Baxi Eco Four and Baxi Eco Compact boiler models

The main feature of these models is the presence of an additional plate secondary heat exchanger made of stainless steel for heating the DHW circuit.

The main (primary) heats water only in the heating circuit, and the secondary works independently of it, using coolant from the heating circuit to heat running water. Thus, the load on the main heat exchanger is noticeably reduced. Thus, the service life of both it and the gas boiler itself increases.

Model Baxi Eco Compact Already in its name it indicates to us its small dimensions, due to the better arrangement of internal elements, compared to the same boilers of the fourth series. In addition, they are equipped with a new electronic board. The “ancestors” of the Eco Four series boilers are the wall-mounted gas boilers of the third series, Baxi Eco 3 Compact.

Technical characteristics of Baxi Eco Four

Features of Baxi Four Tech gas boiler models

The series boilers are a cheaper version of the Eco Four series boilers. They are also equipped with two separate heat exchangers made of copper and stainless steel. Their distinctive feature is that the hydraulic part (water supply tubes) is not made of copper, as in Eco Four, but of plastic.

Due to this, the manufacturer managed to reduce the price of wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers with two heat exchangers, and some buyers appreciated this: after all, boilers of this series also found their firm place in the market. This was especially noticeable during the period of the collapse of the ruble in relation to the dollar and euro.

Additional functions and boiler operation control

All models are equipped with a digital control panel, on which you can set the boiler operating mode, the water temperature in the heating system and hot water supply, and adjust the underfloor heating mode in the temperature range of 35-45 degrees. It is also possible to regulate the operation of the boiler depending on the weather outside, thanks to weather-dependent automation, by connecting a special outdoor temperature sensor.

Or buy Baxi and set the room temperature.
But, unfortunately, these accessories are not included in the package and must be purchased separately.
The only exception is the Luna-3 Comfort model with a remote control panel.

In addition, the display shows errors when the Baxi boiler is operating under certain codes, for example, “E 06” - the DHW temperature sensor is faulty, etc.

Advantages of Baxi wall-mounted gas boilers

— wide model range;
- a bunch of service centers in Russia and CIS countries;
— availability of spare parts from official representatives (dealers);
- reasonable cost.

Disadvantages of Baxi boilers

— weak electronics (in particular, electronic board);
- high sensitivity to running water Bad quality;
- not “original” spare parts.

Results
Today we examined in detail the wall Baxi gas boilers, reviewed the advantages and disadvantages of the models, their technical characteristics, according to the operating instructions. We also compared how the main models of this brand of boilers differ and made our own review of them.

I will not recommend or dissuade you from purchasing, the choice is yours. Read reviews and analyze Baxi gas boilers. I can only say that the price-quality ratio for Baksi boilers is quite good, even despite the fierce competition in the heating equipment market. Let's watch the video review.

Description

Baxi NUVOLA-3 Comfort 240 i is a modern wall-mounted gas boiler focused on cooking hot water in large quantities. A built-in boiler with a capacity of 60 liters made of AISI 316L stainless steel allows you not to worry about hot water consumption: the boiler can provide up to 490 liters within 30 minutes (at ∆t = 30°C).

Advantages of the Baxi NUVOLA-3 Comfort 240 i boiler

Reliable gas system. Like other Baxi gas boilers from this line, this model is fully adapted to domestic operating conditions, operating stably when the inlet pressure of natural gas drops to 5 mbar. Continuous electronic flame modulation is provided in heating and domestic hot water modes. If necessary, Baxi NUVOLA-3 Comfort 240 i can be reconfigured to run on liquefied gas.

Hydraulic system. Besides storage boiler 40 liters and a magnesium anode that protects the boiler from corrosion, this model is equipped with a multifunctional hydraulic system:

  • turbine hot water flow sensor (flow meter);
  • energy-saving circulation pump with automatic air vent;
  • primary copper and secondary steel heat exchangers;
  • brass three-way valve with electric servo drive (dual-circuit models);
  • pressure gauge;
  • automatic bypass;
  • pump post-circulation;
  • inlet filter cold water;
  • built-in three-way valve for the boiler (without servomotor) in single-circuit models.

Convenient temperature control. The Baxi NUVOLA-3 Comfort 240 i boiler has two temperature control ranges in the heating system: 30-85°C and 30-45°C (warm floors mode). Control is carried out through a convenient digital panel. The panel is removable and can be installed in any convenient place if necessary. The user requires a minimum of effort and time to set up: built-in weather-dependent automation eliminates the need to adjust parameters, and it is possible to program the boiler for a week. Maintaining the set temperature in the heating and hot water circuits is performed automatically with high accuracy.

Modern security system. The wall-mounted gas boiler Baxi NUVOLA-3 Comfort 240 i is equipped with an electronic self-diagnosis system with the ability to remember the latest operating errors. Among the standard means of protection and safe operation: ionization flame control, protection against blocking of the pump and three-way valve, a thermostat against overheating of the coolant in the primary heat exchanger, a draft sensor, a pressure switch in the heating system, which is triggered when there is a lack of coolant pressure. The unit also has safety valves in the heating circuit (3 atm.) and in the DHW circuit (8 atm.), as well as a frost protection system in the heating and DHW circuits.

  1. Full set. To ensure a supply of hot water using a boiler without an internal tank, you will have to buy additional equipment - a storage tank, a three-way tap and a number of other circuit elements. This is not only a waste of money, but also certain difficulties in installation; you will have to choose a place for rational placement of devices and connect them. A lot depends on how well and professionally the work is performed. After all, the more connections there are in a liquid system, the higher the likelihood of leaks. BAXI boilers with a boiler are compact, and factory assembly is a guarantee that problems with depressurization will not arise during the operation of the equipment.
  2. Saving on energy resources. The prepared hot water is stored not just in a tank, but in a mini-thermos, and therefore the drop in liquid temperature over time is so insignificant that it can be ignored. If you need it in small quantities (washing dishes, hands), you won’t have to periodically turn on the same flow-through heater or other household appliance in the off-season. Once prepared, it can be used for a long time.
  3. No circuit inertia. Water comes from the DHW tap already heated to the temperature set by the user, and immediately. And this is both convenience and a certain saving of energy resources, since fuel is not spent on additional heating of the liquid from the cold water system.
  4. Partial reduction in costs for water supply and sanitation. Because straight from the tap water is coming the desired temperature, there is no need to drain the liquid coming from the cold water system into the sewer, waiting for it to heat up. This means that the monthly meter readings will decrease.
  5. Automatic solution to the DHW priority problem. You rarely encounter it. And if the system is designed correctly and the equipment is correctly selected, then this nuance of the operation of a wall-mounted boiler does not affect the heating of the house. But owners who prefer to do everything themselves risk getting an undesirable effect; during long-term, continuous consumption of water from the DHW circuit (for example, filling a bathtub), radiators under certain conditions ( low temperature outdoors, large heat losses of the building) will begin to gradually cool down. Purchasing a BAXI with a boiler completely eliminates the occurrence of such situations.
  6. Stability of pressure from a hot water tap. Pressure surges in the pipes are not reflected in it. And they are observed quite often, especially in high-rise buildings. After all, morning and evening hours for many are the optimal time for washing, cooking, bathing children and other household chores. The built-in boiler plays the role of a kind of compensator, leveling out changes in pressure.
  7. Protection of the OB circuit from possible overheating. Not everyone knows this, but the internal reservoir acts as a temperature buffer.

An important advantage of BAXI in this group is that the price of any wall-mounted boiler with a built-in boiler is lower than that of a set: equipment without a hot water tank + indirect heating storage tank. If you take into account the costs of their installation, the difference becomes more noticeable. And you won’t have to deal with calculations of equipment parameters, which means the result is always expected.

Myths about the disadvantages of boilers with boilers

  • They break more often. Any equipment has its own resource, and the built-in tank does not affect this in any way. There is simply nothing to break in the tank itself; a sealed hollow container, nothing more.
  • Depends on power supply. This is typical for all boiler equipment, unless it belongs to the TLO category or is a simple solid fuel installation. Problems with electricity in the private sector are solved quite simply: a good owner always has a diesel or gas generator at hand. An alternative is to purchase a UPS, which will replace the power supply/voltage in both the house and apartment for a while.
  • Maintenance the boiler will have to be worked on more often. Not true. The water for both the boiler and the heat exchangers is the same. And if there is a need to clean the internal cavity of the devices, then such work is performed simultaneously, during the next maintenance.
  • Boilers with a boiler are much larger. And this is from the evil one. Thanks to the rational layout of BAXI, the linear dimensions increase within 2.5–3.5 cm along each axis. Critical? It’s unlikely – the user won’t notice it, and it won’t affect the installation.
  • Difficulty in choosing a model. This is true. The common formula 10 kW/100 m2 is not applicable in this case. And it’s not just about the degree of insulation of the building and a number of related factors; part of the thermal energy is spent on heating water in the boiler. When choosing a heating device of this group, taking into account its cost, it is advisable to consult a professional.
