Paint filling line. Production of paints and varnishes

One and a half hundred brands representing the selection of water-based paints in Russia is far from market saturation indicators. Of these, about half are domestic. Import options from Finland and the EU become unattainable as exchange rates rise. But domestic manufacturers do not indulge in European quality, choosing the path of saving on raw materials and recipes.

At the same time, it is known that the cost of industrial paint production in the Russian Federation is much lower than in Europe, which is why many global brands are moving their production to us. Dare not to give them such a tasty piece of the pie, but to establish the production of water-based paint with high quality and domestic price as soon as possible.

Areas of application of HE paints that meet growing demand

Water-based paints, due to the variety of compositions and properties, are finding more and more areas of application in private and industrial construction and have the following features:

  1. Water, unlike organic solvents, evaporates when the paint dries, without harming the environment, people and animals.
  2. Coloring emulsions are environmentally friendly, resistant to abrasion, and are easy to apply using all known methods (roller, brushes, spray).
  3. Now there are compositions (for example, with a styrene-acrylate binder) that allow emulsions to be used not only indoors, but also outdoors, due to their high vapor permeability, resistance to weathering and ultraviolet rays.
  4. When formulas and recipes for swelling of aqueous dispersion appeared, we took advantage of the opportunity to produce fire-retardant paint, which is applied to structures, increasing their resistance to high temperatures in a fire-hazardous situation.
  5. Acrylic-based water-based paints for private renovations are now used to cover not only walls and ceilings. Very durable options for coloring have appeared wooden surfaces doors, frames, jambs, floors, furniture. They lay down in an even thick layer, like enamel, but are resistant to washing and ultraviolet radiation, and most importantly, they dry quickly without emitting a bad odor.

Depending on the binder polymer included in the composition, there are acrylic, acrylic-latex, silicate, and silicone. Due to their low cost, vinyl-versatate dispersions are becoming increasingly popular (the properties are not inferior to acrylic ones).
All this forces buyers to choose HE paints more often, leaving the usual varnishes and enamels collecting dust on the shelves.

How to set up your own production of water-based paints wisely and profitably?

When developing or adapting a business plan for paint production, you should familiarize yourself with the state standards of technical conditions for water-based paints in the Russian Federation: GOST 19214-80 and GOST 20833-75.

Immediately prepare to settle the nuances of registering a private enterprise, enlist the support of a legally competent accountant. If there is no intention to produce paints and varnishes, but only water-dispersed ones, then mandatory certificates and licensing are not imposed on the manufacturer. Later, you can undergo voluntary certification of products, this will make it easier to gain the trust of buyers and distributors.

Paint production room

Since paint production technology requires certain modes, you should think about the premises where the plant will be located. Aspects for choosing a building:

  • Location: it is best to consider industrial hubs on the outskirts of cities, next to ring roads. There are all conditions for logistics, often other than normal highway– also a railway transport connection. Also, it should be convenient for workers who do not own their own cars to get there.
  • The area of the production premises and the adjacent storage chamber is 40 sq.m. (minimum).
  • Equipment: electrical network- ~220 V, ~380 V 20 kW, heating is required (air temperature during paint production should not be lower than +5°C). According to the specifications, the standard temperature regime is about 23°C, lighting can be daylight. Artificial lighting It is recommended to equip with LEDs or fluorescent ( daylight) lamps, exhaust ventilation– is required, because powdered raw materials, technical water supply, or a reservoir with a convenient supply of water directly to the production line, sewerage with a cleaning system.

It is not necessary to buy or build a building. It is worth taking a closer look at rental properties; many of them will be ideal, even without reconstruction. The monthly rental budget including payments for heating, electricity, water and sewerage can range from 15 thousand rubles.

Production equipment is the heart of the enterprise

The technological production line must include the following units:

  • Bead or ball mill (dispersant) - in it, raw materials consisting of coloring pigments, fillers and binders are ground into particles whose sizes are measured in microns - from 250,000 rubles.
  • Dissolver for paint production - a mixing device that dilutes the paste from the dispersant with water, bringing the product to a uniform, smooth consistency - from 200,000 rubles.
  • Electronic scales – from 6,000 rub.
  • Hydraulic trolley - from 7,000 rub.
  • Screw pumps for pumping paint through pipelines to the packaging area - from RUB 5,000.
  • Filtration system for paint spills - from 5000 rub.
  • Conveyor system for packaging – from RUB 50,000.
  • Auxiliary equipment: containers, Euro pallets, containers for raw materials, commercial scales - from RUB 32,000.

Note! All elements of equipment where raw materials or paint come into contact with them must be either stainless steel or lined with an intact layer of glaze.

Calculation of raw material purchase volumes

Accurate information on the components for paint production will be available only after approval of the range of the first batches and the recipe used. Naturally, for this it is necessary to involve an experienced professional technologist who is familiar with the purchased equipment. He will not only write down technological maps, calculate the consumption of raw materials and product yield, but will be able to predict the production rate for various production schemes.

For descriptive purposes, the following starting set of raw materials can be given:

  • Dispersion (latex, acrylic, etc.) – 450 kg – 65,000 rub.
  • Defoamer – 25 kg – 7,000 rub.
  • Calcium carbonate – 400 kg – 5000 rub.
  • Additives (thickener, coalescent, dispersant, titanium dioxide) – RUB 30,000.
  • Chalk (filler) – 12,000 rub.
  • Printing adhesive labels – from RUB 10,000.

In general, the raw materials for the production of paints in the first batch cost at least 120-150 thousand rubles.

Personnel – less is better, but better

To ensure the work of the 1st shift, one or two specialists are enough:

  1. Workshop master technologist who also performs the supervisory functions of the production manager. There may be one for the entire production, working on a standard 40-hour weekly schedule. In this case, it is worth scheduling a shift change a couple of hours before the end of the technologist’s working day. Salary – from 15,000 rub. + bonuses depending on production or successful optimizations.
  2. Worker pourer - the number of people corresponds to the number of shifts. It directly ensures production from start to finish. Salary – from 8,000 rub. (tied to production standards).

Ensure the operation of the production plant acrylic paints There will also be other personnel: accountant, sales manager, supplier, cleaner, loader. The salary fund for the first month should not be less than 80 thousand rubles.

The key to successful sales of domestic paints

The first thing that will provide a competitive advantage is the low price of the product. But it's worth worrying about the prospects. If the product turned out really well high level quality, the price should reflect this. But then you shouldn’t skimp on marketing gadgets: order a stylish concept design for labels, booklets, advertising banners on the Internet, create a corporate website.

If you can’t immediately get on the shelves of leading construction hypermarkets, focus on construction markets. Let the company's sales representative convey to the distributors the main idea: “The manufacturer is new, trying to prove itself - not “bodacious.” Moreover, “support for domestic producers.”

In addition, the water-based emulsion business is not the production of powder paints, which are applied only using special cameras. Acrylic, latex, and vinyl paints are used by every family, every construction company, and their delivery is not difficult. It is worth focusing on searching for sales by posting advertisements on the Internet. Registration on national construction and industrial portals, forums, several videos with master classes (emphasis on the use of your materials) on YouTube - and interest in the new brand is guaranteed.

Calculation of the total budget and payback

If the organization of all processes is successful and in the first month it is possible to reach the standard of 10 tons, then the cost of 1 kg of paint ready for sale is approximately 23 rubles.
The wholesale cost of medium-quality water-based paints is from 45 rubles/kg. The expected turnover is 450 thousand rubles, of which net profit is 220 thousand.

It is not difficult to calculate the payback of an enterprise with a starting investment of a little more than 1 million rubles. Within a year, the owner of an enterprise producing water-based paints can become an independent successful entrepreneur.

Still have questions?

1. How does the packaging production process work?

The production process begins with the selection of material for future packaging. Next, the material is printed according to the layout. The main type of printing on film or kraft paper is flexo printing (a type of printing using flexoforms and special quick-drying inks). The formation of the package occurs after complete drying of the paints and lamination.

2. What is flexoform?

Flexoform is a plate that is placed on the shaft of flexographic equipment to further transfer ink to the surface to be printed, thereby creating a print.

3. What types of packages exist and which one is better to choose?

There are several types of bags: doy pack, with side folds, three-seam, sachet, stick, vacuum, packaging, craft. To select future packaging, several factors should be taken into account: the type of product being packaged and its properties, consistency, methods of placement on the counter.

4. Is it possible to do everything on a turnkey basis and what is the production timeframe?

The company's capabilities allow us to implement any packaging on a turnkey basis, from developing a unique layout design to packaging and placement of packaging in special show boxes. Material production time is 30 calendar days, forming and packaging time is 10 calendar days.

The finishing materials market offers a wide selection of paints, enamels and varnishes for various purposes. Manufacturers produce new formulations, but there are time-tested materials.

PF-115 enamel is widely used for a wide range of paint and varnish works. This is the most popular enamel among both ordinary buyers and professional builders. This popularity is easily explained by its universal properties, economical consumption and low price.

Considering the same suitability for finishing interiors or exteriors, such enamel is a universal product. This saves time and reduces the cost estimate for finishing materials.

It is indispensable for painting wooden and metal doors and fences, radiators, furniture, concrete slabs, metal structures and pipes.

The enamel is designed for painting indoors or outdoors.

Properties

There are several arguments in favor of PF enamel compared to similar brands.

The distinctive technical properties of the enamel are as follows:

  • high hardness and wear resistance: enamel is insensitive to external influences and withstands mechanical loads;
  • good adhesion or, in other words, adhesion to the surface, especially when using a primer;
  • when dried, it forms a smooth shiny film, which, in addition to its beautiful appearance, performs a protective function;
  • does not leave smudges when painted vertically;
  • resistant to high humidity and temperature changes from -40°C to +40°C;
  • Enameled surfaces can be washed with ordinary detergents.

Enamels PF-115 belong to the group of finishing coatings. Especially together with a layer of primer, they form a dense protective layer that prevents corrosion and slows down the wear of the paintwork.

Preparatory work

The surface should be prepared so that it is clean, dry and free of particles of lime, chalk or sand.

The first stage is cleaning the surface from old peeling paint, dust, rust, and dirt. The tree should be sanded.

The manufacturer guarantees a long service life of the paintwork, provided that the instructions are followed, the surface is properly prepared and the primer GF-021 is used.

Application method

Mix the contents thoroughly until a homogeneous mass is formed. If the consistency is too thick, you need to dilute it with white spirit or turpentine.

During painting and drying, the temperature indoors or outdoors should not fall below +5°C.

There are several methods of application: with a brush or roller, or with a spray gun. The first two methods can be done at home, but it is better to entrust the work with a spray gun to a painter.

Regardless of the chosen method, the enamel is applied evenly in one or two thin layers. The enamel dries in one day, forming a smooth glossy film.

Upon completion of work, all tools should be treated with white spirit, rinsed in running water and dry.

Specifications

PF-115 enamel is ideally designed for use in Russian realities. Her specifications allow the use of this coverage in all Russian latitudes from the Black Sea to the Arctic Circle.

Compound

As a basis for PF-115 enamel, alkyd materials such as pentaphthalic varnish are used in production. For viscosity and color, coloring pigments, drier, organic solvents and technical additives are added. This composition is universal for application to concrete, metal or wood.

The quality of the finished product must meet the requirements of GOST 6465-76. If there have been any violations of the recipe or technological process, then such enamel will be difficult to apply to the surface. In addition, the wear resistance and durability of such a coating are called into question.

Life time

The key advantage of enamel is the formation of a durable, even, smooth, glossy film. It withstands mechanical loads and strong temperature changes, maintaining its original appearance and without changing its physical properties. The service life of the enamel coating declared by the manufacturer is at least 4 years in temperate latitudes. For operating conditions with high humidity, the service life is reduced to a year.

Consumption

With proper surface preparation and two-layer application, PF-115 shows very economical consumption material when working.

On average, 1 kg of enamel is enough to paint an area of 7 square meters. meters in one layer. This is an average indicator, which in practice depends on the chosen application method, the skill of the painter, the type of surface to be painted and the shade of the enamel.

Palette

Standard tinting of PF-115 includes the following colors: glossy and matte white, beige, three shades of green, gray, red, yellow, blue and light blue, brown and black.

The most popular colors are traditionally white and its shades, but the palette is constantly expanding. Today the color range is not inferior in its breadth to other colors.

Designers and builders highly value this enamel for its high-quality coating and good aesthetic appearance surfaces. In addition, the dried enamel layer does not allow sunlight to pass through, does not fade or fade. An additional finishing layer is not required, which saves the budget allocated for repairs.

Value for money physical properties enamel makes it a bestseller in stores building materials. Oil paints are much more expensive and have a pungent, unpleasant odor, which also often causes allergies and headaches. Water emulsion is very impractical. It loses its properties quite quickly and requires regular renewal of the coating.

Package

At the factory, the enamel is packaged in containers of three sizes: 0.9; 1.9 or 20 kg. Construction crews or craftsmen prefer to buy large quantities for painting large areas.

Storage

PF-115 enamel is stored in sealed containers for no more than 1 year from the date of production. It is better not to pour from the original packaging. The permissible temperature range is from minus 30°С to plus 30°С.

Safety precautions

You can only work with enamel in a well-ventilated area. Ventilation should be provided before painting begins.

Use protective gloves. Avoid contact of enamel with skin, mucous membranes and eyes.

After complete drying, it is harmless and does not emit toxic substances.

Enamel is flammable!

Advantages

Main advantages of PF-115:

  • durable, wear-resistant enamel coating designed for long-term use;
  • low price;
  • economical consumption, especially when pre-applying a layer of GF-021 primer;
  • suitable for both interior and exterior work;
  • more durable compared to oil and water-based paints;

The Decoros online store also offers you a wide range of the following products.

Packaging of powder paint into consumer packaging (multilayer corrugated cardboard box with an internal polyethylene bag liner) is carried out in a special installation according to the following technological chain. The finished product, after passing the sieve through the dispenser, enters the packaging unit - a roller conveyor with built-in electronic scales. Powder paint is supplied to the box located on the scales; when the specified mass is reached, the dispenser automatically turns off. The filled box is conveyed from the scale to the packaging table, and the empty box is moved to the scale for filling. If there is no box on the scales, the supply of the finished product is automatically turned off. The parameters of the packaging process are adjusted from the control panel of the packaging installation. All necessary information about the performance of the powder paint production line is displayed on the console in real time.
On the packaging table, after sampling and a positive conclusion about the quality of the finished product, the plastic bag insert is tied, the container is packaged and labeled.
Product packaging in accordance with GOST 9980.3-86 can be done in different kinds consumer or transport packaging. For powder paint, taking into account the special requirements for transportation and storage conditions, the so-called combined containers are currently most widely used. It consists of a box (box) of a set size (for packaging PCs of 20 kg), made of 5-layer corrugated cardboard, and a plastic liner bag. Each part of the container is intended for specific purposes and performs its own function: the box is lightweight, easy to carry, protects from mechanical and atmospheric influences, including exposure to direct sunlight; liner is a mechanically strong paint storage unit that hermetically protects against adverse atmospheric influences. The combination of multilayer corrugated cardboard and polyethylene creates an air barrier against the effects of extreme (especially elevated > 25ºС) temperatures. The packaging operation is completed by tying the plastic bag - liner with a plastic clamp and tying the top of the box with tape.
Then they begin to label the packaging. According to GOST 9980.4-2004 “labeling: information applied by the manufacturer directly to containers, labels or tags.”
A label with the following information is firmly affixed to each packaged unit of product, without distortions or wrinkles:
- name of the manufacturer and its legal address;
- name of the product and its color;
- net and gross weight;
- name of the technical document for the product;
- basic consumer properties or characteristics of the product;
- shelf life or warranty period of the product;
- purpose and method of application;
- batch number and barcode symbol.
The cardboard box is additionally marked with danger signs in accordance with GOST 19433 and transport markings in accordance with GOST 14192 - handling signs: “Keep away from moisture”, “Top”, “Keep away from sunlight”.
When marking is applied directly to the packaging, the color of the marking should be contrasting with the color of the packaging.
Packaged and labeled products are formed into a transport package: boxes with the label facing out are placed on a pallet (pallet) and tied with packaging film. Transport packages of finished products are transferred to the warehouse for storage and shipment to the user.
Storage and transportation of products is carried out in accordance with GOST 9980.5-86 in compliance with the manufacturer’s specifications. Along with the general rules for transportation and storage, powder paint has a number of features that you should pay attention to.
During transportation, vibration and shaking may cause some compaction of the paint in the packaging. But a sign of caking is not yet a paint defect. It can be quickly and easily eliminated by sifting, shaking or fluidizing.
It is much more important to know whether chemical curing processes have occurred. This phenomenon can occur when the material is exposed to temperatures above the permissible limit specified in the manufacturer's specifications and on the PC packaging label. Chemical transformations of the material make it unsuitable for use. Powder paints with rapid or low-temperature curing are especially susceptible to chemical reactions under the influence of elevated temperatures. As a result of chemical aging, not only a decrease in fluidity is observed at the melting stage, but also hardening in particles without complete sintering of the powder. Therefore, it is necessary to observe certain conditions during transportation and storage of paints. To transport certain types of highly reactive powder materials, it is sometimes necessary to use vehicles with refrigeration equipment. Most paints, however, do not require special conditions transportation and storage.
The material, which is known to be sensitive during storage, must be tested prior to industrial use. It should be applied to a suitable substrate and cured to test the performance of the film coating. Acceptable results from such testing will provide confidence that the material is suitable for the job and will form coatings with good performance.
Therefore, it is important to store the material so that it retains these consumer properties. Some of the reasons causing changes in the properties of paints during storage:
- moisture absorption from the air (for example, due to an unclosed box);
- various pollution(dirt and dust in the painting area);
- excessive exposure to heat (storage near heat sources).
Powdered material left in a feed hopper or open box overnight may absorb moisture, causing application problems. If the problem with moisture absorption occurs frequently, measures must be taken to get rid of excess moisture. This can be done, for example, by fluidizing the powder in an apparatus or feeder with dry air.
Contamination of paints after opening the package also poses a problem. If the powder is not completely used, the remaining boxes should be resealed. Wrap (tie) plastic bags and seal corrugated cardboard boxes with adhesive tape to ensure that dust, foreign powders and other contaminants do not get into the container and spoil the powder. Do not reuse powder containers to store new products. This may lead to contamination. Do not store powder coatings near the coating line or near ovens. Exposure to excessively high temperatures can lead to sintering or chemical aging of paints.
If the conditions where the paint is stored differ from the conditions where it is coated, it must be allowed to acclimatize within the coating area. This is especially necessary when the temperature in the warehouses where the powder is stored is much lower than in the area where the paint is applied.
